Ajax midfielder Frenkie De Jong stole the show in the defeat of Roda JC on Saturday and it hasn’t gone unnoticed.
After struggling throughout the first half, Ajax grabbed an equaliser just before the break. De Jong was introduced at half-time and ran things thereafter, providing three assists and controlling the match from midfield.
Though he only played 45 minutes, just two players completed more passes than the young midfielder on Sunday.
Long time ago I saw such a decisive entrance from a sub as Frenkie de Jong (20) had this weekend. pic.twitter.com/VICRxH7bo6

De Jong, 20, is enjoying a brilliant season so far with the Amsterdam giants. If things go on like this, he won’t be there much longer.
According to Voetbal International, he is now attracting interest from Bayern Munich, Chelsea, and Manchester City, just to name a few.
If De Jong has his head turned but wants to guarantee more regular opportunities, there is also reportedly interest from RB Leipzig and Hamburg. Clearly the Bundesliga clubs know what they’re doing.
De Jong has only started four Eredivisie games so far this season but, as Sunday’s win demonstrated, it’s time for that to change.
